This was the 1923-24 season in English ice hockey:

Cambridge University held trials at the Manchester Ice Palace to select a team for an international tour to Switzerland on November 24.[1]

A game between The Army and The Rest was played at the Ice Palace on November 30, 1923. The Rest won 6-3. The purpose of the game was to select the British team for the 1924 Winter Olympics. [2]
