The 1936-37 OB I bajnokság season was the first season of the OB I bajnokság, the top level of ice hockey in Hungary. Three teams participated in the league, and BKE Budapest won the championship.

(Note: Ferencvárosi TC was originally going to participate, but withdrew when they learned they would be unable to use a Canadian player on their roster, Frank Stalpleford. The BKE second team took their place in the championship.)
