The Mitchell Trophy was the premier cup competition in Scotland from its inception in 1929-30 until its final edition in 1938-39.

It was a single-elimination knockout tournament throughout its history, and saw an array of different champions in the 10 years it was awarded. A total of seven different teams won the cup, with only Kelvingrove, the Glasgow Lions and the Glasgow Mohawks claiming it more than once.

The tournament ceased to exist after the 1938-39 season, and was not resurrected after World War II.
