Oberliga Promotion

Relegation

As only three teams took part in Group 1 this year, SC Einheit Dresden - the fourth place finisher in the second group - was set to be relegated; however, due to the withdrawal of several teams, it was allowed to remain in the 1. Liga for 1962-63.
