Club Alpino Español was one of the initial ice hockey teams to compete in Spain. It was a winter sports club and some members tried hockey during the early days of the sport in the early 1900s.

The club had an active hockey section between 1923 and 1926. It competed in the first-ever Spanish Championship in 1923. Alpino won three consecutive national titles from 1924-1926.

The three Arche brothers - Angel, Juan, and Ricardo - were all members of the team, as was Aquilino Sobrino, who served as the goaltender for the Spanish National Team at the 1926 European Championship.
