The Sunderland Chiefs were an ice hockey team in Sunderland, England. The club was founded as the Crowtree Chiefs in 1977, and were renamed the Sunderland Chiefs in 1986.
They played in the British Hockey League Division One from 1986 to 1989, and the English League starting in 1989-90. The club was known as the Sunderland Indians during the 1990-91 season. The team played their home games at the Crowtree Leisure Centre.
The Chiefs dissolved at the end of the 2004-05 season.
