The 1930 British Championship was the first edition of the British Championship. The final was played on May 17 at Golders Green Ice Rink, home of the London Lions It was won by the Lions.
The teams competed for the Patton Cup.
Qualification round
Southern Championship
The London Lions defeated United Services in the semifinals and then Princes Ice Hockey Club 4-1 in the final to reach the British Championship final. The games were played on May 1 and 2 at Golders Green. Princes had defeated Cambridge University 3-0 in the other semifinal, played on April 30 at the Park Lane Ice Rink.
Northern Championship
The Glasgow team was assembled utilizing a pool of players from the various Scottish League teams.
- Glasgow - Manchester 1:1, 3:2
Glasgow qualified for the final.
