Acadia won the Sumner Cup.
- Nova Scotia Independent League
The Halifax Wanderers, Dalhousie University, and Saint Mary's College formed the Nova Scotia Independent League for the 1909-10 season. The Wanderers left the Nova Scotia Hockey League due to concerns over professionalism stating that they were hoping to play "real amateur hockey, without any suspicion as to the eligibility of the players on the teams."
