The entire North Sydney Victorias team was imported. After a few games, the league was suspended by Maritime Amateur Athletic Association President James Lithgow due to concerns over professionalism. Delegates from the two North Sydney teams and Glace Bay then voted to disband the Cape Breton League after the January 21st game. Some more unofficial games were played in February. The Victorias went on to play for the Maritime Professional Championship.
