"Mr. W.P. Renwick, manager of the White Horse hotel club rooms, has put up two handsome prizes to be contested for by the hockey players at White Horse during this season. The first is a beautiful silver plated urn, the contest for which will be open to teams from Dawson, White Horse, Bennett, Atlin and Skagway, and the team winning three games will be entitled to the trophy.
The second prize consists of seven gold lined, silver plated drinking cups, to be contested for by business men vs saloon keepers of White Horse. In order to win this prize three games will have to be won in succession; but in the event of none of the teams fulfilling this requirement the team having the largest score at the end of the season will receive the prize." - Whitehorse Daily Star, 1901-1-23

- 3/10: White Horse Hotel - White Horse Mercantile 7:7 - 5th game of the season, and was for the Renwick medals
- 3/13: White Horse Hotel - White Horse Mercantile 4:3 - Hotel won the medals
North West Mounted Police then defeated the Hotel team, earning possession of the medals.
