Sexton (3) scored for the winners, and G. Carr, Harris, and Lt. C. Ross Cuthbert scored for the Army. The purpose of the game was to select the British team for the 1924 Winter Olympics. [2]

The 1923 Varsity Match between Oxford and Cambridge University was played on December 29 at Mürren, Switzerland. On January 8, Oxford University defeated the British Olympic Team 7-2 in St. Moritz.[3]
