The team was established in 1980 as an extension of the existing Izhorets hockey team which was organized in 1963 and the Izhorsk plant had a factory team participating in the Leningrad championships dating back to 1948. The new team was a member of the Vtoraya Liga until advancing to the Pervaya Liga at the end of the 1982-8..."
