SK Riga is a sports club in Riga, Latvia. It was founded in 1999. The club is primarily known for its ice hockey department.

History

The hockey section of the club has existed since 1999 and has since operated primarily as a youth outfit. It initially called the Riga Sporta pils its home arena. The men's team of the club was founded in 2000 and was known as HK Riga 2000. The other junior teams took part in their respective Latvian junior leagues.

In 2004, the U20 junior team of the club joined the Latvian Hockey League, under the name SK Riga 20. The squad consisted mainly of members of the Latvian U20 national team, which used the league games as preparation for international play. The club moved to a new arena, Akadēmijas Ledus, in 2007 and were renamed SK LSPA / Riga.

In the summer of 2009, the U20 team was disbanded and incorporated into the KHL Dinamo Riga club, as a junior section known as Dinamo-Juniors Riga. SK Riga has played as a U18 team in the Latvian Hockey League since then
