Paisley Mohawks
The Paisley Mohawks were an ice hockey team in Paisley, Scotland. They were founded in 1963 and played out of the East Lane Arena.
They initially played in the Scottish League from 1962-63 to 1964-65. The Mohawks lost to the Fife Flyers in the final in 1964 but later defeated them to win the championship in 1965.
The Mohawks participated in the Northern League from 1966-1977 (with the exception of the 1970-71 season), and won the league title three times; in 1967, 1968, and 1969.
They won the Icy Smith Cup, which at the time served as the British Championship, in 1968. Additional successes included winning the BBC Grandstand TV Trophy in 1966 and the Northern Autumn Cup in 1968.
A second incarnation of the Mohawks played in the Scottish National League from 2000-2002. The Lagoon Leisure Center was their home arena.
