Keemik Kohtla-Järve

Keemik Kohtla-Järve was an ice hockey team situated in Kohtla-Järve, Estonia. The club competed both while the country was a Soviet republic and after it became independent.

The club played in the Estonian SSR Championship during Soviet times, winning the title on 13 occasions between 1956 and 1989. It was known as Kohtla-Järve Kalev from 1952 to 1963, Kohtla-Järve PTK from 1963 to 1968, and Keemik Kohtla-Järve from 1968 to 1997.

After independence, the club joined the Meistriliiga, where they played through the 2002-03 season. From 1997 to 2003, they were known as HK Central Kohtla-Järve.

Kohtla-Järve Viru Sputnik was established as the new club in the city and joined the Meistriliiga for the 2003-04 season.
