Jan Mattern (birth and death records unavailable) was a Czechoslovak ice hockey player.
Biography
Mattern spent his entire club career with Troppauer EV Opava, although he also played as a "ringer" for LTC Praha, DEHG Prag, and AC Sparta Praha in some international club matches.
His first name was also listed as Hans or Stefan, depending on the source. He was known to be a sound player but a slow skater.
He was a member of the Czechoslovak National Team at the 1933 World Ice Hockey Championships. He was also on the roster at the 1929 European Championship and the 1934 World Ice Hockey Championships, but did not appear in any games.
