Harold Herman Duden (December 9, 1879 - May 31, 1952) was a British hockey player. He won a gold medal with the British national team at the 1910 European Championship.[1]

Biography

Born in Belgium to a wealthy lace baron, Duden became an American citizen in 1895 and studied in New York at Columbia University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1901 and a Bachelor of Law in 1903. He later practiced as a lawyer in London and worked as a land developer.

A strong offensive player, Duden played the position of rover. He was a member of Columbia's hockey team from 1901-1904, before joining the British side, Princes Ice Hockey Club. He spent the majority of his career, which lasted until 1913, with Princes, with the exception of two short stints playing in Belgium for Brussels IHC.

Duden was a member of the gold-medal winning British national team at the first-ever European Championships held in Les Avants in 1910. He also played for Britain at the 1913 LIHG Championship.
