Hokejski Klub Celje (English: Celje Hockey Club), commonly referred to as HK Celje or simply Celje, is an ice hockey club from Celje, Slovenia. The current club was established in 1998,[1] after the old HK Celje was dissolved. They do not have a senior team anymore, only younger selections of the club are currently active. The old HK Celje was quite ambitious in the early 1990s, playing in the Slovenian Ice Hockey League. However, they did not get the desired results of winning a championship, and went bankrupt in 1993.

The original club was founded in 1947 and played sporadically until 1966, when an indoor ice rink was opened in Celje. Prior to that, the team's activities had hinged on the weather conditions. They played primarily in the lower-level Yugoslav leagues, but did appear in the Yugoslav Ice Hockey League during the 1952-53 season (as HK Klavidar Celje) and in most years between 1973 and 1988.

Arena

The team play their home matches at the Golovec Ice Hall, a 500 capacity ice hall in Celje.
