The English Ice Hockey League was the first ice hockey league to be formed in both England and Europe as a whole. It ran for only one season, with the London Canadians winning the only league championship.
Games were played at Prince's Skating Club and Hengler's Ice Rink. Henglers closed in the spring of 1904, forcing Argyll and Amateur Skating Club, both of whom were based at the rink, to dissolve. The demise of these clubs led to the cessation of the league and the reversion to the English Club Championship.
