Eddie Haggarty Memorial Trophy

The Eddie Haggarty Memorial Trophy was a Scottish under 21 tournament first hosted by the Kirkcaldy Kestrels in April 1980. It was named in honor of Eddie Haggarty, a Kestrels player who was killed in a car accident in 1979. The tournament was played until 1987.

1981

It was played on April 17. The Dundee Rockets and Ayr Rangers both finished with 6 points in the round-robin tournament, with the trophy going to the Rockets on goal differential. The Kirkcaldy Kestrels finished third, Murrayfield Raiders fourth, and the Irvine Challengers fifth.[2]

1982

The Murrayfield Raiders won the tournament, played on April 16. Dundee, Kirkcaldy Kestrels, Irvine, and Glasgow also competed.[3]

1983

The Murrayfield Raiders won the tournament, played on April 15, defeating the runner-up Kirkcaldy Kestrels 5:1 in the last game of the round-robin. They finished undefeated, while Kirkcaldy wound up with one loss. The Glasgow Redwings finished third. Nottingham, Dundee, and Edinburgh also competed.[4]

1984

Murrayfield Raiders, Kirkcaldy Kestrels, Dundee Jr. Rockets, and Whitley Tomahawks competed. Murrayfield went undefeated, Whitley finished second, and Kirkcaldy took third. Kirkcaldy defeated Dundee 13:3, bust lost 8:2 to Murrayfield and 7:4 to Whitley.[5]
