ERC Freiburg was an ice hockey team in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, founded on January 30, 1961.

The club began playing in the newly-created Regionalliga South-West in 1971. However, the club dropped out after just one season, but they did return and qualify for the Oberliga in 1973. They won the Oberliga in 1977 and were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga the following year. After two seasons spent in the 2nd Bundesliga, ERC Freiburg earned promotion to the Eishockey-Bundesliga in 1979.

They spent the early portion of the 1980s flipping back-and-forth between the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga, winning the latter's championship in 1981 and 1983.

In 1984 the club was forced to declare bankruptcy due to financial difficulties. They then folded and EHC Freiburg was founded to replace them.
