The 2008 Estonian Cup was scheduled to be played from April 1-5, 2008.

The day before the cup was scheduled to start, it was cancelled, as the Tartu Big Diamonds wanted to use the goaltender, Aleksei Terentjev. Terentjev had played in the Latvian Hockey League during the regular season, and was therefore deemed ineligible to participate in the tournament. The Big Diamonds refused to play, and thus the tournament was cancelled.

Instead, on April 5, 2008, a Supercup (commonly known as the Battle of Tartu) between the Big Diamonds and Tartu Kalev-Valk was held. See the main article on the 2008 Estonian Supercup for more details.
