The 1970-71 DDR-Bestenermittlung season was the first edition of the unofficial competition formed after the restructuring of East German hockey in 1970. Four teams participated in the tournament, which was won by BSG Einheit Crimmitschau.

Four Bezirksliga champions qualified for the Bestenermittlung, which was contested in March 1971.
