1961-62 Gruppenliga season

The 1961-62 Gruppenliga season was the first season of the Gruppenliga, the third level of ice hockey in Germany. 12 teams participated in the league, and EV Pfronten won the championship.

Qualification

Northern Group

SC Brandenburg Berlin forfeited their participation. Altonaer SV qualified for the Gruppenliga. They lost the final of the Hamburg Championship to Hamburger SC, 7:4 and 7:2.

Southern Group

ESV Herrsching (won the Bavarian Championship, finishing ahead of MTV Dießen and TC Selb) faced TEC Stuttgart-Waldau, winners of the Württemberg Championship.
