The 1956–57 Division 2 season was the second tier of ice hockey in Sweden for 1956–57. The league consisted of 51 teams, divided into four regions - north, west, east, and south. The groups were divided into "A" and "B" groupings, with the top team in each group advancing to the two promotion rounds. The top two teams from each promotion round earned a spot in the Swedish Division I.
