The 1944 German Ice Hockey Championship was the 28th season of the German Ice Hockey Championship, the national championship of Germany. KSG Berlin won the championship by defeating LTTC Rot-Weiß Berlin in the final.

It was also the fifth and last German War Championship (Kriegsmeisterschaft). A Kriegsspielgemeinschaften (KSG) was formed between Berliner Schlittschuhclub and SC Brandenburg Berlin, known as KSG Berlin.

First round

Group A

SC Riessersee withdrew as they had trouble getting enough players on leave from the army. They were replaced by Fussen.

KSG Berlin ESV Füssen 3:1
KSG Berlin Klagenfurter AC 7:4
KSG Berlin Wiener EG 5:1

The only games completed featured KSG Berlin as part of them. They were declared group winners with a perfect 3-0 record and advanced to the final. The remaining games were unable to be contested, so the team with the best goal differential against KSG Berlin advanced to the third place game. This proved to be ESV Füssen.
