In Division A, the Cubs had yet to lose a game as of 2/26, nor had the Ice Kings. The Whirlwinds were 1-1, with a loss to the Cubs. In Division B, the Hurricanes were in front. Other teams included the Monarchs, Our Goal Getters, and the Net-Busters.

There was also a St. Bon's Boarders League, featuring the Miners, Cowboys, Mountaineers, Lumberjacks, and Grave-diggers. The first round completed found the teams on a fairly even standing.

The Kelligrews and Holyrood Juniors had teams that practiced in St. John's.
