The Oturehua Winter Sports Club held its opening carnival for the winter on the Idaburn Dam on July 8. An ice hockey tournament featuring eight teams was staged. Ranfurly A took it with three victories. The ladies' section was won by Oturehua, who defeated Dunedin in a hard game.[1]
