1900 English Club Championship
The 1900 English Club Championship was awarded to Princes Ice Hockey Club. It was their second consecutive title and second overall.[1]
According to the Glimpses of English Ice Hockey History section of Peter Patton's Ice Hockey (1936) book, there were "Various matches played between Princes, Niagara, and Brighton. Princes also played several matches with the R.E.'s (Royal Engineers) from Chatham" during the 1899-1900 season.[2]
There was a match played between Princes and Oxford University at Prince's Skating Club on March 22, 1900. It was won by the home team, 7-1.
Hockey was suspended at the rinks for a period of time as many players had left to fight in the Boer War. Patton's book states that Princes won the English Club Championship, likely by virtue of their win over Oxford.
