The 1958-59 Suomi-sarja season was contested as the second tier of Finnish hockey. 20 teams participated in the league, and SaiPa won the championship and was promoted alongside Kokkolan Hermes.

The league was divided into four groups, the winners qualifying for promotion to the SM-sarja.
