It was formed in 1922 in what was at the time the Free City of Danzig (present day Gdańsk, Poland). Banned by the Nazis in 1939, the club re-emerged following the end of World War II and is active today as Gedania Gdańsk.

The now-disbanded hockey section played in the East Prussian Championship in 1934-35, finishing last after losing to Tilsit 22-0, Konigsberg 21-0, and VfK Konigsberg.

Gedania also fielded a hockey team in the local Danzig City Championship. They won the title in 1934.
