History of hockey in Tunisia
The country's first ice rink is located at the Blue Ice complex in the Yasmine Hammamet resort. It opened in 2008. The Tunisian Ice Hockey Association was created in 2009. It is headed by Ihab Ayed, a French-Tunisian player who is among the driving forces of ice hockey in the country. Becoming IIHF associate members by 2017 is listed among the association's long-term goals.
The 2009 IIHF Semi-Annual Congress was held in Tunis.
