The East German 2. Liga was the third level of ice hockey in East Germany from 1955-1962. The Gruppenliga became the new third-level league for 1962-63.

Champions

  • 1955-56: HSG Wissenschaft TH Dresden (Group 1), BSG Lok Zittau (Group 2), BSG Empor Oberhof (Group 3). HSG Wissenschaft TH Dresden won the promotion round (a round-robin between the three group winners).

  • 1957-58: BSG Wismut Wilkau-Haßlau (Group 1), others results unknown
  • 1958-59: BSG Wismut Annaberg (Group 1), SC Dynamo Berlin II (Group 2), BSG Motor Weimar (Group 3), HSG Chernie Halle TH (Group 4), SC Dynamo Berlin II won the promotion round.
  • 1959-60: SG Dynamo Klingenthal (Group 1), SG Dynamo Weißwasser II (Group 2), BSG Empor Oberhof (Group 3), BSG Stahl Ilsenburg (Group 4), promotion round results unknown
  • 1960-61: SC Dynamo Kligenthal (Group 1), HSG Chernie Halle TH (Group 2), HSG Chernie Halle TH won the promotion round
  • 1961-62: BSG Aktivist Knappenrode-Lohsa (Group 1), SG Dynamo Schierke (Group 2), it is unknown if the promotion round took place.
