The Alberta Professional Hockey League (also called the Interprovincial Professional Hockey League) was founded in 1907 and officially existed until 1910, even though the Edmonton Pros were the only team left in the league in the latter two seasons and just played exhibition games.

The Pros, also known as Edmonton Hockey Club, challenged for the Stanley Cup in December 1908 and January 1910, losing on both occasions.
