The 1981 Korea Domestic Championship (January) was the 33rd edition of the competition. It was contested from January 15-17, 1981.

Note: The papers said this was the 33rd edition of the championship. The December 1981 competition was reported to be the 36th, but no records exist of 34th and 35th championships.
