This was the 1976 ice hockey season in New Zealand:

Wellington and Invercargill were unable to attend, so Canterbury and Auckland played a two game series against one another.

  • 9/26: Canterbury - Auckland 7:5
  • 9/26: Auckland - Canterbury 7:5

The teams shared the championship.
