The 1898 English Club Championship was awarded to the Niagara Ice Hockey Club. It was the first and only title for the club.[1]

According to the Glimpses of English Ice Hockey History section of Peter Patton's Ice Hockey (1936) book, there were "Various matches played at and between Princes and Niagara and scratch teams" during the 1897-98 season.[2]
