Hockey Club Bagtyyarlyk (Russian: Багтыярлык, Turkmen: Bagtyýarlyk, English: Happiness), also known as Burgut, is a Turkmenian professional ice hockey team based in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.[1] It is under the command of the State sport Committee of Turkmenistan.[2] It was founded in 2007.[3][4]

History

The team was founded in 2007 and was named "Burgut" (Eagle).[5] The head coach of the team was Turkmen specialist Suleiman Durdyyev. The team trained in the Ice Palace in Ashgabat. Players of the team are called to the Hockey national team of Turkmenistan.[6] In 2012, the team "Burgut" made history of Turkmen hockey, won $20,000 at the first Cup president of Turkmenistan.[7][8][9] From April 20 to May 5, 2012 by order of the President of Turkmenistan, the team went to Kazan for a training camp on the basis of children's school hockey club Ak Bars.[10][11]

Since 2013 the club has been playing under the name "Bagtyyarlyk". They compete in the Turkmenistan Championship.[12]
