McKerrow Memorial Cup

The McKerrow Memorial Cup was first presented by the Mt. Harper Ice Hockey Club in 1958. It served as the trophy for the South Canterbury inter-club competition.

The cup was named after Mt. Harper player Graham McKerrow, who had drowned when he fell through the ice at a hockey practice at Saltwater Creek in Timaru.

It was retired sometime around 1972 and collected dust for many years, before being re-discovered and given to the Southern Ice Hockey League (SIHL) in 1997.
