Kristall Saratov is an ice hockey team in Saratov, Russia. The club played in the VHL, the second level of Russian ice hockey, before to withdrawing from the league prior to the 2014-15 season due to financial issues..

History

Kristall Saratov's predecessor, Bolshevik Saratov, was founded in 1948. It and its successor club have gone through a number of name changes throughout their histories.

  • 1949: Nauka Saratov
  • 1950: Iskra Saratov
  • 1954: Iskra Saratov folded.
  • 1958: Trud Saratov was founded as the successor to Iskra Saratov.
  • 1961: Avangard Saratov
  • 1965: Energiya Saratov
  • 1969: Kristall Saratov

The club competed in the top tier Soviet Championship League on three occasions during the 1970s and 1980s. They also competed in the top-tier Russian competitions, the International Hockey League and the Russian Superleague, from 1996 to 1998.
