Jahn Cernauti

Jahn Cernauti was an ethnic German sports club based in Cernauti, Romania, today a Ukrainian city called Chernivitsi. The club was founded in 1903.

The ice hockey section won the regional Bukovina Championship in 1931 by playing Maccabi Cernauti to a draw in the final game of the season. There was some tension between Jahn and Maccabi, the latter alleging Jahn circulated anti-Semitic ideology.

Jahn finished second behind Dragos Voda Cernauti in the competition the following year. These two teams dominated the Bukovina Championship (and later the Liga Regionala du Nord) throughout the 1930s. Jahn qualified for the Romanian Championship in 1936 and 1937. They also played in the national championship in 1940.

In the summer of 1940, the association was dissolved after the German population of Cernauti emigrated to Germany.
