Budapesti Vasutas SC
Budapesti Vasutas SC (abbreviated to BVSC Budapest) was a sports club in Budapest, Hungary. The club fielded a hockey team in the top-level OB I bajnokság from 1956 to 1980.
BVSC was one of the top Hungarian clubs throughout the 1950s and 1960s, frequently finishing in the top three of the championship. However, they never managed to win a title, despite several close calls.
In 1964-65 they finished level on points with Újpesti Dózsa SC after the regular season, but lost the tiebreaking final after losing the first game 3-2 and tying the second 3-3. Two years later, in 1966-67, BVSC tied Ferencvárosi TC in the final round with 33 points apiece. The title was however awarded to FTC due to tiebreaker procedures.
By the mid-1970s, the club was on the decline, recording increasingly poor finishes in the Hungarian league and no longer challenging the top-tier teams. Their final season in the league was 1979-80.
