The Southern Intermediate Hockey League was an ice hockey league in Great Britain that existed from 1948-1955. In its inaugural 1948-49 season, it was played exclusively as a single-knockout competition, referred to as the Intermediate Trophy. In subsequent years, a round-robin format used, though not all teams played one another twice and as a result some games were worth four points, rather than the usual two. The competition was often referred to as the English Intermediate League from 1949 to 1952.
