Rungsted Ishockey Klub is a Danish ice hockey club from Rungsted. The elite team is called Rungsted Seier Capital.
History
The club was founded in 1941 as Rungsted IK. The first team later became independent from the amateur Rungsted IK association, becoming the Rungsted Cobras in 2000. Their name was again changed to the Nordsjælland Cobras' in 2004.
They have won the Danish Championship three times in total, those titles coming in 1955, 1963, and 2002 (the first two under the Rungsted IK name).
In 2009 the professional club filed for insolvency and was forced to withdraw from the AL-Bank Ligaen at the conclusion of the 2009-10 season. They were then placed in the second-level Danish Division 1 under the parent Rungsted IK association.
Rungsted won Division 1 in 2013, and subsequently applied for a license to join the Metal Ligaen (the re-named AL-Bank Ligaen) for the 2013-14 season. They were accepted into the league in May of 2013.
The club also has a second team presently playing in the Danish Division 1.
