The 2014-15 Malaysian Ice Hockey League season was divided into three divisions of play.

Overview

[1]

"30th May marked the long anticipated finals of the first MIHF ice hockey season of 2015. After months of sweat and hard work, six teams earned the privilege to fight it out for the title of champions at the 2015 MIHF President’s Cup Ice Hockey league finals.

In the junior category, D’Jungle Magic and Scanclimbers met each other head on to decide once and for all which team has the right to hold the coveted President’s Cup for Division 3. Mall goers were not disappointed right from the first puck drop. Both teams battled valiantly and gave everything they had. With every attempt at goal, the audience were kept at the edge of their seats till finally a puck from D’Jungle Magic managed to make it into the net. Shortly they managed to seal the win by putting another puck past the goalie. Despite Scanclimbers playing their heart out, it was just not enough to get the goals back.

The Division 2 called for Falcons to play Ravens in a nail-biting game which tested both teams both physically and mentally. Both teams traded goals with Falcons scoring first in the 2nd period only to have the call answered a minute later with a goal to equalise the score. Falcons once again found the back of the net in the start of the 3rd period only to be equalised again by Ravens. The battle raged on till the last 20 seconds of the final period when the Falcons pulled their goalie to get an extra player advantage. However this proved to be a mistake when a puck was shot by Ravens into the open net, winning them the game and the title.

Division 1 started off with a packed crowd waiting to see which team would emerge the champions. Wildcats started the season strong and had a spot in the Finals reserved for them early in the playoffs. The Asian Tigers earned their spot in the Finals with an intense Playoff game coming from behind to draw 30 seconds before the final whistle causing the game to go into extra time and then taking it home in less than a minute in extra time. Like the season, Wildcats started the game strong taking a 2-0 lead in the first period. Asian Tigers did not take it lying down and scored a goal just minutes before the end of the first period. However their defence was just not strong enough with Wildcats retaining the title with a 6-3 win."
