The Northwest Hockey League was a senior hockey league based in Northern United States. This league played from 1950-51 to 1956-57. The teams that played were Crookston (MN), Grand Forks (ND), Hallock (MN), Roseau (MN), Thief River Falls (MN) and Warroad Lakers (MN). It appears that all of these teams played until 1956-57. The Lakers won the league in 1955, 1956 and 1957.

During this span the Warroad Lakers won the United States Intermediate championship in 1955. The Lakers went 21-6-1 in 1955-56 and 18-3-0 in 1956-57. In 1955 they won the Holland Memorial Trophy by defeating Roseau, 11-1, to win a five-game playoff series, 3-2.
