A league was organized, which ran from February 27-March 27, 1944, involving Town, RCAF, RCMP, Army, Standard Oil, and P.A.A.

RCAF Northern Staging Route Hockey League

Whitehorse, Fort Nelson (BC) and Watson Lake made up the Northern Half, while Fort St. John (BC), Dawson Creek (BC), and Grande Prairie (AB) comprised the Southern Half.

Northern Final

  • 2/23:Whitehorse - Watson Lake

League Final

  • Grande Prairie - Whitehorse 7:2
  • 3/16: Grande Prairie - Whitehorse 8:2

The winner was to travel to Edmonton to face the Edmonton RCAF Flyers for the RCAF Northwest Air Command Championship. On March 24, Edmonton beat Grande Prairie 6:4.

1945-46

1946-47

Hockey games were set to be played as part of the Whitehorse Winter Carnival from February 21-23, 1947.

The Whitehorse Merchants won the Whitehorse Senior League. A Whitehorse All-Star hockey team, lead by coach Lloyd Camyre, traveled to Nanaimo on a CP Airlines charter DC 3 to compete in the British Columbia Intermediate Playoffs.

Also called the Peace River-Yukon League. Whitehorse, Hythe, Fairview, Peace River, McLennan, Falher, Dawson Creek, and Grande Prairie were in the league.

As of 2/4: Peace River 7-4-1-15, Fairview 6-2-1-13, Falher 2-11-2-10 (played some 4 point games), McLennan 4-10-0-8. It seems Whitehorse games didn't count in these and the four teams played in the North Peace loop which interlocked with the other teams.
