The Cape Breton County Professional Hockey League was formed in the Cape Breton region of Nova Scotia for the 1922-23 season. It replaced the Cape Breton Hockey League. The league was fraught with issues from the start. Teams had trouble securing players, and by January 17, 1923, the league's opening date still had not been fixed.

The season eventually began, with a four-week schedule involving teams from Sydney (the Mic-Macs), North Sydney, and Glace Bay being played. The Glace Bay Miners won the league championship. They faced the Stellarton Professionals for the Maritime Championship.

The league was unsuccessful, featuring lackluster play and poor attendance, and was not resurrected for the 1923-24 season.
