Robert Newcomer Le Cron (October 28, 1880 - June 5, 1947) was an American-born British hockey player. He won a gold medal with the British national team at the 1910 European Championship.[1]
Biography
Le Cron was born in Pennsylvania and studied dentistry in St. Louis. He played ice hockey there from 1901 to 1903 and was also active in football.
In Britain, he played the majority of his club career (spanning 1909-1914) with Princes Ice Hockey Club but also spent time with the Oxford Canadians in 1910-11. Le Cron was a member of the British national team at the inaugural 1910 European Championship in Les Avants and also represented the country at the 1914 LIHG Championship.
He earned a position as the personal dentist to Edward VIII, King of England, and the Prince of Wales in the 1920s.
