This was the first domestic game to be played in Slovenia. An ice rink was first set up in the small town of Kamnik near the end of 1931. Valter Stuzzi was elected chief of the local sports club's skating section. Engineer Viktor Rebolj was responsible for teaching hockey to young players. Each player purchased a stick, 25 dinars apiece, from a furniture factory in the neighboring village of Duplica.
Kamnik invited SK Ilirija to come play a game in their hometown. Ilrija accepted the invitation, happy to have a match to prepare for their international game against Klagenfurt two weeks later. Hockey in Kamnik was first played with a wooden puck, but to play a real match, Stuzzi ordered two rubber pucks. One of them was sent shot to the bottom of the neighboring pool by a furious player, and the other was used during the match.
300 curious spectators attended the match, which saw Ilrija wax their inexperienced opponents by the score of 15-1. Unfortunately, the winters in Kamnik proved unfavorable for the use of the rink, and no further matches were organized there.
